RequestScope Privacy Policy

RequestScope (“we”, “our”, or “us”) is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains our practices regarding the collection, use, and disclosure of information when you use the RequestScope Chrome Extension (the “Extension”).

1. Data Collection & Storage

RequestScope operates entirely locally within your browser.

• We do not collect, transmit, or store any personal data or browsing activity on any remote servers.
• We do not use third-party analytics trackers.
• We do not require user accounts.

All network monitoring data, payload interceptions, mock rules, and settings generated or configured by the Extension are stored exclusively on your local machine using standard browser APIs (IndexedDB and Extension Local Storage).

2. Use of Permissions

The Extension requires specific browser permissions to function properly. These permissions are strictly used to provide the Extension’s core features (network monitoring, API debugging, and response mocking):

• Tabs: Used solely to map intercepted HTTP traffic to the active browser tab and URL, allowing us to group network requests under the correct page and isolate data to your explicitly allowlisted domains.
• Declarative Net Request: Used to intercept, monitor, and selectively mock or block network requests on the fly based on your configured rules.
• Storage: Used to save your settings, mock rules, and request history locally on your device so they persist across browser sessions.
• Downloads: Used only when you explicitly initiate a download (e.g., clicking the “Export” button) to save your captured debugging data or HAR files to your local hard drive.

3. Data Sharing & Third Parties

Because we do not collect any data, we do not—and cannot—share, sell, or rent your data to any third parties.

Your data never leaves your browser unless you explicitly choose to export and share it yourself.

4. Security

Your data is secured by the local operating system and browser environment constraints. Since we do not transmit data over the internet to backend servers, the risk of external data breaches from our services is zero. However, we encourage you to maintain the security of your own local device.

5. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the “Effective Date” at the top.
